INFLUENCIAL MUSIC VIDEOS- RITA ORA

The dance routine and colours in this music video are very similar in what we want to achieve in our music video. The dance routine is simple and repetitive yet effective, this is what we aim to achieve as we don't know any professional dancers or choreographers a simple dance routine such as this would be perfect. When the dance routine begins it is very fast cutting and there are a range of different shots like close ups and mid shots however there are no long shots, this is effective as it allows the audience to engage with the artist more as the camera is always close to her. The angles used to film the dance routine are very simple only having one from the front and one from the side angles and they cut between this using different transitions including the flashing from different shots. The simplicity of the two shots is effective also because the colours are very vivid which makes it enticing and makes you want to engage in it more, as well as the colours going from black and white to colour makes it interesting. At the beginning of the music video it seems as though it is going to be a fully black and white video until we are flashed with the colour, for example at 0:37 we are flashed with the vivid bright pinks, blues and purples which catches the audiences eyes which makes the music video really exciting and makes you want to watch more. We plan to do something similar by having the flash of loads of colourful shots at the begining to make the music video exciting from the start so that they want to carry on watching it. I think that bright colours are vital in a happy dance song which is what we want to achieve to make sure that our lead singer looks as though she is having a good time and is carefree.
